Discover Masala Wheels

If you’re in the mood for something truly flavorful, Masala Wheels at 68 Broad St Rd, Manakin-Sabot, VA 23103, is the place to be. This unique spot brings a fusion of traditional Indian spices and the convenience of a food truck, making it a standout dining experience for locals and visitors alike.

Walking up to Masala Wheels, the aroma of freshly prepared spices and sizzling dishes fills the air. The food truck has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a colorful display of menu items that immediately capture your attention. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely meal, there’s always something exciting to try here.

The menu is a perfect balance between classic Indian street food and creative modern twists. From the moment I bit into the chicken tikka wrap, I was hooked. The chicken, marinated in aromatic spices and grilled to perfection, was tender and flavorful, wrapped in a soft, fresh naan. What makes this dish stand out is the layer of tangy yogurt and spicy chutney that adds a burst of flavor with every bite. It’s an ideal combination of spice and richness that leaves you wanting more.

The vegetable samosas are another crowd favorite. These crispy, golden pockets are packed with a savory mixture of spiced potatoes, peas, and a variety of fragrant herbs. Each bite is a perfect balance of crunch and softness, with the spices warming up your palate. Pairing it with a mint chutney elevates the experience to the next level. It’s an easy snack to enjoy while walking around or even while waiting for your main dish.

Speaking of mains, if you’re looking for something hearty, the lamb curry is a must-try. The slow-cooked lamb is rich and tender, falling apart effortlessly in the sauce. The curry itself is wonderfully spiced but not overwhelming, with just the right amount of heat. The dish is served with fluffy basmati rice or a piece of freshly baked naan, which helps to balance the richness of the curry.

The food truck also offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, which is perfect for those with dietary restrictions or preferences. The dal makhani is an excellent choice if you’re after something comforting yet full of flavor. The creamy, spiced lentils are perfectly cooked, offering a smooth texture and a satisfying depth of flavor. It pairs wonderfully with their naan or even some steamed rice.

What really sets Masala Wheels apart is the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Unlike many food trucks, you can tell that the owners take great care in sourcing the best products. It’s clear they have a passion for food, and that passion shines through in every dish. The use of high-quality spices and fresh produce really elevates the overall experience, making each bite more memorable than the last.

Beyond the food, the location of Masala Wheels is also a plus. Nestled in Manakin-Sabot, VA, it’s easy to find and conveniently located for anyone in the area. Whether you're out running errands or looking for a new place to grab lunch with friends, the food truck is accessible and inviting. There’s often a small crowd gathered around the truck, and you can usually spot regulars who clearly can’t get enough of what’s on offer.

One of the best parts about Masala Wheels is the atmosphere. Despite being a food truck, there’s always a sense of community. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making sure each customer feels like a valued guest. It’s easy to strike up a conversation with the chef, who is often seen prepping the food and greeting guests with a smile. The casual vibe makes it a perfect spot for families, friends, or anyone looking to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed setting.

Don’t just take my word for it-Masala Wheels has garnered rave reviews online from locals and food lovers who continue to come back time and time again. • This food truck has quickly become one of my favorite spots for South Indian and Indo-Chinese food. The Idly, Mysore Bonda, Vada, and Dosa are all amazing — super fresh and taste just like home! The chutneys especially peanut, tomato chutney are my favorites and sambar are perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Their Indo-Chinese dishes are pure street-style spicy, flavorful, and totally satisfying. And when it comes to biryanis, they seriously nailed it. The Thalapakattu Biryani, Boneless chicken Biryani, and Chicken Dum Biryani are all authentic, aromatic, and cooked to perfection every time. I’m also really happy they’ve started serving lunch now from Tue to Fri ( 11: 30 Am to 2: 00 Pm)! The veg and non-veg platters are great value — only $10.99 and $11.99 and come with plenty of variety and generous portions. Don’t miss their tea and bun maska such a perfect combo. Plus, they’ve even set up a firepit to keep everyone warm while enjoying their food a really nice touch. If you love South Indian food or Indo-Chinese street flavors, you’ve got to try Masala Wheels. Great taste, great value, and super friendly service...

  • The food here is incredibly delicious! I ordered chitti punugulu, onion samosa, chicken noodles, egg fried rice, and tea - everything was amazing. Although they once gave me the wrong order, they handled it perfectly by not charging for it. The service is truly wonderful. I highly recommend this place; it's definitely worth a try!

  • Much Improved Experience – Great Food & Cozy Vibes! We recently visited Masala Wheels and ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa along with a few Indo-Chinese dishes, and I must say — this visit was a big step up from our past experiences. Previously, we weren’t too impressed with the taste, but this time everything was spot on. The chutneys, sambar, aloo masala, and especially the mysore masala spread on the dosa were full of flavor and really well prepared. What made the evening even better was the cozy touch — they set up a bonfire, which was perfect for the cold weather. It created a warm and welcoming vibe that made the food experience even more enjoyable. The Indo-Chinese dishes were also a hit — my kids loved them! The only reason I’m holding back from a full five stars is the use of plastic containers for hot items like sambar. It would be great to see them move toward more eco-friendly packaging, especially for hot food. If they make that change, Masala Wheels could easily become our go-to place for a comforting South Indian and Indo-Chinese meal.

  • Masala Wheels – A Must-Try Food Truck on West Broad Street! Masala Wheels is a hidden gem parked right on the main street near Manakin Sabot, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite in the area! This vibrant food truck offers a delightful Indian street food experience at pocket-friendly prices. We tried the Nellore KaraPodi Dosa, which was packed with bold flavors, along with Chilli Paneer and Mirchi Bajji—each dish fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Their chai was the perfect companion to the breezy evening weather. The vibe was great with a steady stream of happy customers, which shows how popular it’s becoming. If you’re craving authentic South Indian snacks in a casual, feel-good setup, Masala Wheels is a must-visit! Will definitely be going back for more.
